specific purpose of the organization is
to teach tennis as a lifetime
recreational and educational sport. The
tennis classes held year round will be
available to young adults and children
regardless of financial status. Our
belief is that all students should have
the privilege to learn lessons from
professional tennis instructors.
Butler, the founder of
Grassroots Junior Tennis has drawn on
her many years of competitive and
professional experience to coach
successfully junior tennis players of
varying ages. Kay is a teaching
pro at the
Grassroots Junior Tennis system is to strengthen every
aspect of your child’s game: simplify their strokes to make
them more reliable, consistent, and forceful through drills,
coaching strategy, and competitive play.
STATEMENT Grassroots Junior Tennis offers stroke
analysis, stroke production, drills,
match play strategy, and sports science.
These training methods have produced
junior tennis champions in the U.S. and
abroad. Kay Butler’s passion for the
game elevates her junior players to
become enthusiastic students. She
advocates that the sport of tennis can
become a great companion for life. Her
students will improve his or her game as
well as having a lot of fun. She will
also address fitness and training, with
a focus on concentration as well as
relaxation. Her goal is to bring
every junior player in the program
towards an appreciation of the sport
focusing on the importance of
cooperation and fitness in life.
Classes practice on tennis courts that
are donated to the organization. The
lessons are 60 minutes in length, three
days per week for four months, twice a
year. Additionally, non-stress
tournaments are held periodically to
reinforce tennis skills, etiquette of
the game and social interaction.

TENNIS COURT POLICIES • Tennis shoes with non-marking soles.
• No food, drinks other than water & power drinks in
• No gum allowed on the courts.
• Proper language, sportsmanship, and tennis etiquette
are expected at all times.
• Only tennis activities are allowed on tennis courts.
• You’ll be expected to follow directions closely and
with enthusiasm to maximize your learning.
